Empowering EVERY LEADER TO BE THEIR BEST

ABOUT ME
Leadership and building the potential in others while living a purpose-filled life is my passion. Growing up in small-town America to two divorced, factory worker parents taught me to take advantage of the opportunities I came across and to keep my eyes open for more. As the first one in my family to earn an undergraduate degree, let alone a law degree and master’s degree in business administration, I worked and earned my way through all these milestones to where I am today. Life is tough, but we can all find our way with a little determination.
From a young age, my life's goal was to help as many people as I could. I did not exactly know how I could do that, but I took many risks and leaps of faith to navigate better opportunities. I worked my way through high school, college, and law school.
After law school, I joined the U.S. Army JAG Corps to fulfill that goal. Again, I leaned in, as I saw it as an opportunity to travel, help Soldiers and the government, and gain insurmountable experience. In eight years of service, I served a two-year tour in South Korea, six combat missions in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Africa, and other assignments at Fort Benning, Fort Meade, Kuwait, and Guantanamo Bay. I advised over 600 clients and the government on myriad issues that spanned the entire legal spectrum, including criminal defense and prosecution, tax law, family law, administrative policy, federal civil tort law, and managing all civil tort claims in Iraq and Afghanistan, providing adjudication to injured locals on the ground. In my last assignment, I served as the first full-time military and female NATO Anti-Corruption Advisor to the Afghan Police Inspector General.

My journey has certainly not been easy, and some days, I still wonder where I will find the energy to continue serving my passion. However, we can find strength in our stories and our support of each other.

With over 20 years of leadership, legal, law enforcement, inspection, and evaluation experience, I have mastered the principles of leadership. Additionally, through speaking and writing, I share my personal stories and challenges to help others lean in or sit back through their journeys - we are all in this together! Empowering others to be their best selves while understanding our strengths and weaknesses is the foundation for embracing our life's purpose.
